Job summary

KLA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design next-generation high-vacuum stage systems, achieving nanometer-level accuracy. You will collaborate with controls, systems, and manufacturing to validate designs from concept through validation.

The role emphasizes precision engineering, vacuum compatibility, and close partnership with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable solutions for semiconductor inspection equipment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with experience in motion systems, precision mechanics, or mechatronics.
• Proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks with several years of work experience and FEA experience (structural, thermal, vibration).
• DFM experience across machining, sheet metal, and castings; familiarity with Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-DOF stage structures, flexures, and precision motion mechanisms.
• Select vacuum-compatible materials and low-outgassing hardware for clean environments.
• Perform FEA to optimize stiffness, damping, and accuracy; build and test prototypes.
