Job summary

Amatrol is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer and Project Leader to own and drive product development from concept to production. You will lead design, testing, and implementation of new products, manage multiple projects, and coordinate with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years of experience, and advanced SolidWorks/3D CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD modeling.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, and design for manufacturability.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of new products and systems.
• Manage multiple engineering projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Design and develop products, assemblies, and components using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Evaluate designs for performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to bring products to life.
• Build prototypes, support testing activities, and validate product performance.
• Troubleshoot design and production issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinate project priorities and resources to ensure successful project completion.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute technical expertise to strategic projects.
