Job summary

Quest Global in Houston, Texas, seeks a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design and development of NPI projects, ensuring GD&T, BOM, and PLM integration for heavy industrial enclosures.

You will drive design validation, DFMEA, and cross‑functional collaboration, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering on-time, high‑quality production drawings. This role emphasizes leadership and rigorous engineering standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–8 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or supervisory capacity.
• NPI projects specifically for E-houses, modular buildings, plant rooms, or heavy industrial enclosures.
• Familiarity with international standards for industrial enclosures and electrical safety (e.g. NEC, IEC, NEMA classifications) is an added advantage.
• Advanced, expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (including sheet metal, frame, and large assembly management) and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development, detailing.
• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Design change Management and PLM.
• Create detailed 3D models, general arrangements, and manufacturing production drawings with GD&T.
• Experience in Sheet metal, Material selection, Welding and Corrosion protection and Machining.
• Manage design changes, BOM and revision control protocols.
• Experience design validation, DFMEA, Hand calculations, Tolerance stack up and reference standard (ASME & ANSI).
• Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) and First time Yield.
• Exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, cross-functional communication, and project scheduling capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

What You Will Do

• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

What You Will Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of hands‑on mechanical design experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or supervisory capacity.
• NPI projects specifically for E‑houses, modular buildings, plant rooms, or heavy industrial enclosures.

Pay Range:

$90,000 to $120,000/year

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on‑site position located in Houston, Texas

• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
• Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking
