Job summary

APSI Construction Management, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager/Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) for the VA Medical Center project in West Haven, CT.

The role involves construction management, submittal coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and commissioning support on the Surgical and Clinical Tower phases A1 and A2. The CM-ME will monitor compliance with contract requirements, perform constructability reviews, and work with the Senior Resident Engineers office to ensure timely progress and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years' mechanical engineering experience and 5 years' construction inspection.
Knowledge of HVAC, medical gas, domestic water, chilled water, steam systems.
Experience in construction management, preferably on VA/medical facilities.

Responsibilities

Provide construction management support for the Surgical and Clinical Tower – Phase A1 and A2 projects.
Coordinate submittal reviews and ensure contractor compliance with specifications.
Monitor budget, cost accounting, and change orders; prepare cost estimates and packages.
Maintain project schedule and daily logs; coordinate with VA Resident Engineer and General Contractor.
Attend weekly project meetings and oversee contractor payment procedures.
Perform testing/inspections and assist in commissioning activities.
Document issues and resolutions; support relocation and closeout submittals.
