Job summary

WM in Westminster, MA seeks a Lead, Mechanic Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment under limited supervision.

You will manage workflow, train others, and ensure safety procedures are followed, documenting work and parts usage with fleet software. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Communicate directions and specifications verbally and in writing to team members.
• Demonstrate high quality work, performed with limited repeat repairs and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Demonstrate ability to aid and train other technicians in repairs and WM procedures and policies.
• Use time effectively, prevent irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion.
• Document Work and Parts Usage: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks. Record parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings utilizing fleet maintenance software program.
• Test and Adjust Systems: Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper functionality and alignment. Adjust settings, calibrate sensors

You will utilize your technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, vehicles, and systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. You will manage workflow and work assignments, outsourcing of repairs when applicable, and produce and manage operational reporting.
