Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A in Baltimore to lead fleet maintenance operations and ensure equipment is kept in a rental-ready state. You will mentor junior technicians and conduct preventative maintenance per branch, region, and national standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, performing major repairs, and generating detailed service reports. The role requires strong mechanical expertise and leadership in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent preventative maintenance schedule for all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure it meets Herc Rentals quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems; perform major repairs as needed.
