Job summary

Pike Industries, Inc. in Westbrook, ME is seeking a Lead Mechanic - Equipment to travel to job sites and work in the shop, performing maintenance on heavy equipment and coordinating with the Equipment Manager.

You will troubleshoot dump trucks, pavers, reclaimers, milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers, ensuring safety compliance, conducting toolbox talks, and supporting new technology adoption with manufacturers. CDL a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience traveling to job sites and working in shop environments.
• Maintenance and minor repairs of heavy equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Provide safety training and enforce safety rules on site.
• CDL a plus for field work.

Responsibilities

• Travel to field sites and shops as needed.
• Plan work procedures and coordinate parts/PM with Equipment Manager.
• Troubleshoot and maintain heavy equipment (dump trucks, pavers, reclaimers, mills, loaders, graders, dozers, rollers).
• Discuss damage or malfunction with supervisor and plan next steps.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and participate in toolbox talks.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to stay updated on new technology.

Lead Mechanic - Equipment

What you can expect

• $37.00-$42.00 depending on experience with a $10.00/hour night shift differential
• Annual increase potential
• Company vehicle and gas card
• OT after 8 hours

What you will do

• Travel in the field and jobsites and work in the shop as needed (CDL a plus)
• Plans work procedures (Scheduling) and/or possible solutions such as parts, PM service in conjunction with Equipment Manager
• Trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, pavers, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers.
• Examine equipment and discuss with superintendent, operator, or project manager the nature and extent of damage or malfunction
• Ensure engagement of equipment team in all safety best practices, ensure compliance with all company policies and safety rules. Conduct safety training and toolbox talks
• Work closely with all equipment manufactures to keep up with new technology
