Job summary

Mathnasium in Glenview, IL is seeking a Lead Math Instructor to join our after-school program. You will teach math to 2nd12th graders, foster a welcoming classroom, and help families see progress. Training and curriculum provided; part-time, in-person, 3 shifts per week.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma, strong math skills up to Algebra I, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a desire to learn. Competitive pay: $17.00–$20.00 per hour, with growth and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Math proficiency through Algebra I is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills mandatory.
• Eagerness to learn and be trained to teach math effectively.
• Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor in-center, online, or hybrid using Mathnasium Method.
• Collaborate with team to deliver individualized instruction in small groups.
• Assess students’ progress and engagement during sessions.
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
• Maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

What You Will Do...

As an Instructor, you will be a passionate and outgoing individual who will positively impact the community by creating a welcoming environment for our students and families. Candidates will be trained to provide effective and concise math instruction. You will motivate and inspire students to learn by creating an engaging, positive and productive learning environment while establishing a high level of confidence and program value. Instructors will assist in evaluating and tracking the progress of each student through effective communication with the Center Manager and staff, as well as perform operational functions as required.
