Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical testing systems and analytical instrumentation.
• Experience with fabrication including fixture design and precision measurement.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality, reliable data and document procedures rigorously.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical/instrumentation issues and identify root causes.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot materials testing and analytical equipment (load frames, profilometers, durometers, microscopy, SEM).
• Execute test plans per ASTM standards or collaborate on custom test methods including sample prep, fixturing, and data analysis.
• Configure and validate test setups for repeatable results aligned with engineering intent.
• Document procedures, calibration activities, and results for quality and traceability.
• Mentor junior Technologists and communicate findings through data analysis to inform decisions.
• Develop fixtures and components to support testing needs with precision and reliability.
