RTX is seeking a materials engineering professional for onsite work in McKinney, TX, to support supplier materials, processing, and design decisions across programs. You will lead material selection, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance requirements.

The role requires a STEM degree with 4+ years of experience, US citizenship, and the ability to work onsite. Salary range: 68,900–131,100 USD, with RTX benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and technical datasheets.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information.
• Experience leading technical teams or serving as a technical lead in rapid manufacturing environments.
• In-depth knowledge of material characteristics, applications, and design selection.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and identify materials and processes based on program specs and performance requirements.
• Lead or collaborate in selecting materials, finishes, adhesives, and build processes for new programs.
• Lead supplier material troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Prepare analyses and reports on alternate materials, obsolescence, and failure analyses.
