Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Solution Design Project Engineer to oversee engineering efforts for large-scale material handling equipment projects on the Key Accounts team. You will lead design teams, develop system concepts, and support cost estimates using department tools and processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 5+ years in related fields, PLC experience, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in material handling, warehouse automation, controls engineering, or complex systems engineering.
• Experience with PLC control systems and controls architecture development.
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to coordinate and guide cross-functional teams.
• Experience interpreting customer requirements, developing technical solutions, and leading concept development efforts.
• Up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and inputs; collaborate with partners to develop material handling/automation concepts.
• Lead team in producing 3D models and proposal drawings to achieve concept freeze.
• Generate material lists, scope summaries, and technical proposals.
• Identify control architectures and interfaces for machine, controls, software, and host systems.
• Prepare descriptions of operation and evaluate vendor proposals against budgets and tech requirements.
• Own engineering activities and deliverables through quotation and build phases.
