Job summary

Xcel Energy in Eau Claire, WI is seeking one or more Material Handler(s) In-Charge at the Melby Service Center. The role leads daily material operations, directs bargaining unit staff, and requires safe operation of forklifts.

Responsibilities include material ordering, receiving, put-away, staging for field crews, processing returns, and ensuring clean, compliant work areas while providing excellent service to local customers; overtime and after-hours responses may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Forklift operator certified and computer skills required.
• Must lift and carry 50 pounds and work inside and outside in dusty environments.
• CDL required or must obtain within 6 months of acceptance of position.
• Must live within 20 miles of the reporting service center.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform daily material operations and planning activities.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Direct work of bargaining unit employees at assigned locations.
• Order materials from Alliance suppliers and internal storerooms.
• Receive, unload/load, and put away stock and non-stock materials.
• Process returns/credits and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Provide excellent customer service to local management and field crews.
• Participate in safety and training programs.
