Job summary

Heartland Heating & Cooling in Grimes, IA is expanding by launching a new plumbing division. We seek a licensed Master Plumber to build it from the ground up and lead it going forward, while remaining hands-on in the field during the early stages.

You will set up operations, recruit and develop a team, oversee installs and service, ensure code compliance, and partner with leadership on growth and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on plumbing experience with a track record of quality work.
• Prior experience leading, training, or supervising a team strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Iowa plumbing codes and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and launch Heartland's plumbing division, including services, pricing, workflows, and quality standards.
• Recruit, hire, train, and lead a team of plumbers and apprentices as the division grows.
• Perform and oversee plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance work.
• Ensure all work meets Iowa plumbing code and safety requirements.
• Partner with leadership on growth strategy, budgeting, and goals for the division.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Set and uphold quality-control and customer satisfaction standards.
• Manage inventory, equipment, and vehicle needs for the plumbing team.
