Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in California seeks a Research Scientist to lead assay development and validation efforts in a fast-paced R&D environment. You will design experiments, optimize assay systems, and prepare documentation for regulatory review, while collaborating with informatics to enable data management and automation.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years using HPLC and LC-MS/MS in a lab, with a BS/BA in a related field and a preference for MS/MA. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years experience with HPLC and LC-MS/MS in an R&D lab.
• BS/BA with relevant sciences required; MS/MA preferred; PhD optional.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for data presentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and initiate assay development under guidance of senior staff.
• Develop, optimize and validate assay systems.
• Prepare SOPs and validation reports for review by licensed directors.
• Collaborate with informatics to build programs and data management tools.
• Present updates at R&D meetings and conferences.
