Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation in Downers Grove, IL, is seeking a Sales/Account Management professional to support executives in prospecting, acquiring, and renewing business. You will build relationships with consultants and clients, assess initial RFPs, and guide implementation while maintaining product knowledge and licenses.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams, traveling as needed, and handling reports and data to enable informed decisions for benefit designs and network

Qualifications

• At least two years of work experience in health care management marketing or 5 years in sales/marketing/health insurance processing and service coordination.
• Knowledge of group health products, benefits comparison, and implementation processes.
• Possess or obtain Life and Health state licenses within 90 days of starting.
• Strong interpersonal skills for internal and external collaboration.
• Analytical and sound decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales Executives or Account Management in prospecting and acquiring new business.
• Develop and maintain relationships with consultants, brokers, and clients.
• Evaluate initial RFPs and summarize benefits, population, size, and reporting.
• Submit RFPs to Underwriting.
• Advise on plan design, funding, and network options.
• Gather data, create/maintain/verify databases and prepare reports.
• Respond to questions from prospects and consultants regarding benefits.
• During implementation, transition benefits to HCSC systems and coordinate with Sales Exec.
• Collaborate with internal partners to move members to HCSC and review benefits with groups.
• Maintain knowledge of HCSC/Dearborn products and competitors' offerings.
• Lead or participate in special projects; travel as needed.
• Maintain Life and Health insurance licenses.

Job Summary

NOTE: This is a Hybrid workstyle, meaning three days per week in Downers Grove, IL office and two days per week remote. This Position Is Responsible For Supporting Sales Executives Or Account Management Executives In The Prospecting, Acquiring Or Renewing Business. Support Management Including Leading Or Participating In Special Projects/Initiatives.

Job Description

• Support Sales Executive(s) to assist in prospecting and acquiring new business.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with consultants, brokers, and new clients/customer representatives.
• Evaluate the initial RFP and create a summary including benefits, population, size, location, and what reporting is available.
• Submit RFP to Underwriting.
• Determine what we can and can't administer and make recommendations on plan design, funding, and network options.
• Gather data, create, maintain, and/or verify databases. Create or prepare reports.
• Respond to questions from prospect and their consultant/broker regarding benefit information and available benefit options.
• During Implementation process, manage the process in transitioning benefits from carrier we are replacing to the HCSC Automated Benefits Summary and identify differences. Coordinate this activity with Sales Executive for unique and custom accounts.
• Work with internal HCSC partners to identify standards, ranges, filings, and coding's ability to move members to HCSC. Coordinate this activity with Sales Executive for unique and custom accounts.
• During the implementation process, conduct benefit review with the group.
• Maintain knowledge of HCSC and Dearborn products and our competitors' products and how to differentiate and translate differences as part of the implementation process.
• May lead or participate in special projects/initiatives.
• May include some travel.
• Maintain life and health insurance general agent licenses.

Required Job Qualifications

• At least two years of work experience as a health care management Marketing Service Representative OR 5 years of experience in combination of sales/marketing/health insurance experience involving processing and coordination of services for health care clients.
• Knowledge of group health products, comparing benefits, and implementation process.
• Possess Life and Health State Health Insurance Licenses or obtain Life and Health State Health Insurance Licenses for the state of operations within 90 days of starting in role.
• Interpersonal skills to interact professionally with both internal and external contacts.
• Analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience with sales databases.

Base Pay Range $55,900.00 - $123,500.00 Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
