Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation is seeking a Structure & Outfitting Lead to head the design and coordination of structural and outfitting systems across vessel construction projects.

You will oversee a team of designers and ensure all design deliverables meet project requirements, regulatory standards, and production needs, while collaborating with engineering, production, purchasing, and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8-10 years of experience in ship design, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hull structure and outfitting systems.
• Experience leading and mentoring design teams.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of maritime regulatory and classification rules (ABS, USCG, etc.).
• Experience developing and reviewing 2D/3D design drawings and production packages.
• Strong understanding of shipyard fabrication methods and constructability requirements.
• Ability to coordinate across departments including production, purchasing, and project management.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of structural and outfitting systems across vessel construction projects.

• Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and project management to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and delivered on schedule.
