Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Sr. Marine Systems Engineer to lead cross-functional teams in delivering marine power and propulsion systems for commercial and Naval vessels. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with sales and project management, and ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in MV electric distribution or VSD systems, with up to 20% travel and the ability to obtain a secret clearance for US military contracts.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years’ experience in the MV Electric Distribution and/or Variable Speed Drives (VSD) Systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads a multi-discipline engineering team to deliver Integrated Power and Propulsion Systems for commercial and Naval vessels.
• Provides or coordinates technical support to the Project Management team including internal and external technical presentations, change management, planning, and budget control.
• Establishes strong inter-departmental and inter-company relationships to effectively achieve contract requirements including Project Management, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Testing, Field Service, Suppliers, other GEV entities, and third parties (such as regulatory bodies).
• Performs design reviews to ensure deliverables meet industry standards of safety, performance, and quality.
• Mentors less experienced engineers by demonstrating, coaching, and sharing best practices.
• Participates in and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
