Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Systems North America in Chesapeake, VA, seeks a Marine Electrical Manager to lead overhaul, installation, maintenance and testing of propulsion and power systems. You will direct engineers, technicians, and field staff to deliver safe, compliant results and provide technical guidance across projects.

This leadership role requires deep knowledge of propulsion, automation, and Navy electrical standards, along with strong mentoring, communication, and project coordination

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of marine propulsion, generator control, automation and control systems.
• Familiarity with diesel engine controls and systems (MTU, Cummins, Caterpillar, Isotta Fraschini) preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams in shop and field environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Adherence to ISO and safety policies; maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical operations: testing, calibration, troubleshooting propulsion control and automation systems; supervise electrical personnel.
• Interface with customers, OEMs, and internal teams to resolve issues, provide guidance, and develop labor estimates.
• Develop and maintain electrical SOPs, test docs, and project documentation to meet Navy, Coast Guard, OEM, MIL-SPEC, NAVSEA, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Oversee electrical wiring, sensors, panels, system integration, and calibration records for engine overhauls and installations.
• Perform supervisory duties including hiring, training, and evaluating staff; ensure safety and quality.
