Job summary

Northeast Maritime Institute Inc. is seeking a Lead Piping Designer to spearhead piping systems for vessel construction and repair projects in Kingstown, Rhode Island.

You will ensure accurate piping arrangements, drawings, and production packages aligned with engineering intent and project specs. Responsibilities include developing detailed drawings, coordinating with engineering and production teams, and ensuring compliance with shipbuilding standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in shipbuilding or marine piping design.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, connections, and layouts.
• Experience reviewing and validating production packages (red-line and back-fix methods).
• Understanding of ABS and U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of piping systems for vessel construction and repair projects.
