Job summary

Fraser Shipyards is seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to lead shipboard electrical installations and testing. The role requires planning, installing, and wiring electrical systems per industry standards while mentoring a small crew.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with shipboard electrical work, documentation, and coordinating with other crafts. Willingness to work varied shifts and in confined spaces is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of new vessel construction electrical installation.
  • 8-10 years combined marine and industrial repair and new construction electrical experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee craft personnel performing work.
  • Lead and mentor a small crew.
  • Design and troubleshoot moderate complexity circuits.
  • Review wireway designs for viability.
  • Install wiring and components; connect generators, transformers and motors.
  • Use test equipment to troubleshoot issues.
  • Estimate materials for assignments.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing for parts and equipment.
  • Assist with project estimations.
