Job Description:

Lead Manufacturing Technician

Round Lake, IL

Filling Department B Shift 5:00 am to 5:30 pm, 2-2-3 schedule

About This Role

The Lead Manufacturing Technician is responsible for executing all processes in production while strictly adhering to cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines, and any other relevant regulations. You will participate in departmental projects and quality teams. Under supervision, you will execute activities in production, revise documents, and may assist in technology transfers. The role requires technical knowledge for troubleshooting and leadership in compliance and safety.

How you will contribute
  • Lead training and mentoring for manufacturing tech progression
  • Conduct safety Gemba’s and coaching
  • Support manufacturing operations
  • Proficiency in electronic systems (EBM, JDE, etc.)
  • Operate production equipment (Filling, Inspection, Packaging)
  • Ensure paperwork complies with GDP/GMP
  • Manual cleaning of equipment and parts
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams
  • Manage supplies and maintain GMP standards
  • Assemble and operate filtration systems
  • Prepare components for manufacturing and set up shifts
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues
  • Coordinate with maintenance and metrology
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What you bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or GED; 6+ years experience or AA+4+ years related experience
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations and procedural writing
  • Experience with pharmaceutical equipment, including autoclaves
  • Ability to analyze process performance quantitatively
  • Proficiency in mathematics and measurement standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Knowledge of chemical and biological safety procedures
  • Good computer skills
Important Considerations

Role involves physical activity, working around machinery, and possibly working in controlled environments with safety gear. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in loud or confined spaces. Some roles may require specific safety or gowning procedures and awareness of allergies.
