Job Description

Lead Manufacturing Technician

Round Lake, IL

Filling Department B Shift 5:00 am to 5:30 pm 2-2-3 schedule

About This Role

The Lead Manufacturing Technician is responsible for executing all processes in production while strictly adhering to cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations which could apply. You will participate in departmental projects and quality teams. Under supervision, this role involves hands-on execution, document revisions, complex procedure rewriting, and possibly assisting in technology transfers. The incumbent should have technical knowledge for troubleshooting and leadership in cGMP compliance and safety.

How You Will Contribute
  • Lead training and mentoring for manufacturing tech progression (levels 1-3)
  • Conduct safety Gemba’s and coaching to ensure ergonomic adherence
  • Support manufacturing operations
  • Operate production equipment (Filling, Inspection & Packaging)
  • Ensure paperwork compliance with GDP/GMP
  • Clean equipment and parts manually
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams
  • Manage supplies and maintain GMP standards in cleaning
  • Assemble and operate filtration systems
  • Prepare components for manufacturing and set up shifts for success
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate maintenance and preventative activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring To Takeda
  • High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of experience, or AA/higher with 4+ years related experience
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken
  • Excellent communication and procedural writing skills
  • Experience with pharmaceutical production equipment and quantitative analysis
  • Strong mathematical skills, familiar with metric and US measurements
  • Effective teamwork and safety knowledge
  • Computer skills

This role involves physical activities such as lifting, standing, bending, and working around machinery and chemicals, with safety gear requirements. Specific environmental conditions include controlled environments and potential allergens. Must follow gowning protocols and safety regulations.
