Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Columbia, SC is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead technical programs, specify new processes, and optimize equipment. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be located on-site in Columbia, SC.

You will drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvements, guide capital projects, and advance manufacturing capabilities while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Nuclear experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Responsibilities

• Take leadership role in coordinating efforts of working departments to implement project scope, schedule and meet capital spending targets.
• Analyze and propose renewals and strategic plans; represent Westinghouse in professional societies/industry associations.
• Prepare technical papers and present to customers and others.
• Consult with management and engineering regarding capabilities, schedules and processes to facilitate production.
