Job summary

GE HealthCare in State College, PA is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to partner with local and global teams to support product transfers and drive long-range process optimization. This role focuses on ownership, mentorship, and data-driven decision making to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

You will lead cross-functional projects, develop robust manufacturing documentation, and influence peers through technical leadership and collaboration. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline; or 10+ years manufacturing experience if no degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present technical information clearly.
• Ability to interpret data, apply structured problem solving, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proven project-management skills; ability to plan, document, and execute initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Control production processes, tooling, and equipment to maintain validated state while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Identify manufacturing issues, determine root causes, and implement cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
• Monitor productivity and process performance using data analysis.
• Lead cross-functional projects from concept through implementation; align with quality and business goals.
• Create and maintain clear manufacturing documentation, including change-control records.
• Lead tooling, fixture, equipment, and process development to strengthen capability.
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, Quality, Operations, site leadership, and global teams to solve problems.
