Job summary

MOHR Talent seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for an aerospace & defense manufacturer near Caledonia, MS. This on-site role focuses on developing precision manufacturing processes, leading NPI readiness, and optimizing production layouts with Lean methods.

You will document procedures, BOMs, and workflows while collaborating with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure high quality and reliable manufacturing across complex assemblies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required.
• Strong knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes and production documentation.
• Experience supporting NPI, launches, or scale-up projects.
• Familiarity with BOM development, facility layouts, and workflow optimization.
• Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement experience.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration with production teams.
• U.S. person ITAR requirements (citizens or permanent residents).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and refine manufacturing processes for precision components and assemblies.
• Lead readiness activities for new product introductions and transitions to production.
• Provide technical expertise across CNC machining, welding, metal fabrication, and assembly.
• Create detailed work instructions, procedures, BOMs, and production docs.
• Assist with equipment placement, floor layouts, and workflow improvements.
• Identify and drive Lean/Kaizen-based efficiency and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and production teams.
• Serve as a technical resource on process improvements and complex production needs.
