Job Description Summary

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for creating robust processes, equipment acquisition, and supporting production cell daily needs. Additional responsibilities include tracking cell manufacturing data to help drive improvements. In this role, you will work on strategic initiatives to develop and meet long-term objectives. The individual is also expected to serve as a coach for new team members and may also be utilized as a subject matter expert.
This role requires an understanding of manufacturing processes and strong problem-solving abilities.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; be aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Use judgment to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Lead projects, managing risks and resource needs.
  • Explain information and develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within the field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience) + minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • Prior experience with machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high-temperature alloys.
