Job summary

Deutsche Windtechnik is seeking a Major Component Exchange Engineer to lead and execute wind turbine MCE projects in the US. You will oversee engineering aspects from initial assessment through field execution, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with procedures.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, technical leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of wind industry experience with 3+ years in planning, supervising, or executing major component exchanges.
• Minimum 3 years with Vestas wind turbine technology in MCE planning, execution, or field support.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of gearboxes, generators, bearings, shafts, flanges, bolted connections, alignment, lubrication systems.
• Experience with special tooling, lifting fixtures, rigging, cranes, and hydraulic systems for major lifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, planning, execution, and closeout of wind turbine Major Component Exchange projects.
• Oversee engineering aspects from initial assessment through field execution, commissioning and final documentation.
• Provide field engineering support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality and safety in execution.
