Job summary

The State of Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance Repairer Master stationed at the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge, Cameron Parish. The role oversees skilled maintenance, carpentry, and mechanical work across coastal facilities and water-management sites in a demanding outdoor environment.

Incumbents must be able to lift 50+ pounds, perform duties at multiple properties, and support public outreach and educational programs as required. A formal background check and transcript verification apply.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience or training in building trades, maintenance, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Two-year vocational program in construction-related field plus one year of related experience.
• Twelve semester hours in construction-related field plus one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• New construction including general carpentry for docks, stairs, walkways, outbuildings, etc.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on buildings and facilities, drywall, painting, roofing, windows, screens.
• Maintain plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to support refuge facilities and water infrastructure.
• Welding and metal fabrication for equipment and infrastructure repairs.
• Grounds maintenance including tractor operation to keep grounds and levees safe and tidy.
• Assist with seining, fish ponds management, public outreach, and events.
