Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District seeks a Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance of wastewater facilities and related systems. You will plan repairs, supervise staff, ensure safety, and manage service requests with a focus on reliability and compliance.

Qualified candidates possess a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), 4 years in industrial maintenance, and relevant certifications or licenses. A valid Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
• Four years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent.
• CMRT certification or similar maintenance credential preferred.
• Texas wastewater/water operator license preferred.
• CMRP certification preferred within three years of hire.
• Driver’s license valid in resident state.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct facility maintenance, including proactive and reactive repair and renewal activities.
• Train, lead, mentor, and evaluate staff; promote integrity, trust, respect, unity, safety and teamwork.
• Create and manage service requests and work orders; manage backlog and scheduling.
• Review logs and records to diagnose issues and perform root-cause analyses.
• Develop, review, and revise preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Develop and revise job plans to ensure safe and consistent practices.
• Observe safety policies and ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Monitor facility security and report issues to authorities as needed.
• Communicate updates during emergencies and planned shutdowns; assist with repairs.
• Respond to stakeholder inquiries about asset maintenance and performance.
• Maintain housekeeping and inventory control; train staff on compliance.
• Assume supervisory responsibilities as needed to ensure operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
