Job summary

Becton Dickinson in the United States is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician (1st shift) to provide informal leadership, troubleshoot, repair, and ensure safe operation of manufacturing equipment. You will lead defect tag management, coordinate maintenance with the core team, coach technicians, and participate in daily TMS meetings to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years mechanical experience (5+ years preferred with peer leadership),

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Associate's degree or equivalent technical training preferred in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
• 2 years mechanical maintenance experience required
• 5+ years with peer leadership preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide informal leadership to the assigned area and guide troubleshooting and repair
• Provide on-call leadership and escalation management to maintain safe operations
• Lead defect tag management with timely resolution and documentation
• Attend daily TMS meetings and communicate updates
• Coordinate maintenance activities with the core team to minimize downtime
• Coach and mentor technicians for skill development and readiness
• Ensure coverage when team members are absent to maintain operations
• Lead cross-functional teams on scheduling, process safety, and continuous improvement
• Uphold LOTO, 5S, GMP, GDP and other BD safety standards and policies
