Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a maintenance team member to ensure all mechanical systems and equipment operate properly and common areas are clean, disinfected, and aesthetically maintained. The role involves preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and repair work across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting tasks in a community setting.

You'll supervise daily activities with the General Manager, help with bid processing, and handle inventory and on-site emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 3–5 years general building/community maintenance experience.
• 1–2 years HOA experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, time management and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. Computer literacy, MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspects and communicates to immediate supervisor as applicable.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Properly utilizes new equipment and follows safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
• Maintains working relationship with community staff.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Performs maintenance, replacement and repair in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring and other minor repairs when a permit is not required.
• Maintains records and prepares reports for management.
• Supervises and schedules daily activities of maintenance and housekeeping with GM.
• Assists GM with bid processing.
• Keeps inventory and submits maintenance supply requests.
• On-call availability for emergencies and projects.
• Maintains shop, equipment rooms and storage areas.
• Mows and weeds around campsites and RV storage areas and common areas as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
