Job summary

Scott Steel is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance, repair, and reliability of equipment and facility systems across our manufacturing operations in Dayton or Piqua, OH. This hands-on leadership role requires diagnosing issues, implementing preventative maintenance, and coordinating repairs to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
5+ years industrial maintenance experience.
Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Strong safety mindset and quality workmanship.
Experience in steel processing/manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
Maintain and repair slitting equipment, conveyors, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
Coordinate maintenance priorities to minimize downtime.
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
Maintain maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedules.
Assist with facility maintenance including building systems.
Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies.
Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers.
Ensure compliance with safety policies and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Train and mentor employees on equipment operation and care.
Respond to urgent breakdowns and maintenance emergencies.
