Job summary

Monroe Group LTD is seeking a Maintenance Technician to supervise and assist with maintenance staff, groundskeepers, and housekeepers. The role covers electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and general building upkeep to protect property value and service reliability.

The position requires hands-on ability with tools, strong communication, and adherence to safety standards across multiple sites in a housing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of maintenance technician experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• At least 1 year of experience in an affordable housing environment preferred.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Technical training and license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete all maintenance requests issued in a timely manner.
• Perform work orders and projects including electrical, plumbing, drywall replacement/repair, painting, lock replacement, tile repairs, blind/window treatment and replacement, and HVAC repairs.
• Ensure vacant apartments are made ready per Monroe Group standards; schedule vendors, flooring, painting, cleaning, and appliance replacement.
• Work within budget limits established.
• Maintain organized records of appliance replacement, carpet, and paints.
• Monitor and maintain building systems and inventory; schedule preventive maintenance.
• Assist in monitoring outside contractors and on-call maintenance duties.
• Complete grounds work and trash removal around the dumpster.
• Assist with annual inspections (backflow testing, elevators, fire panel, extinguishers).
