Job summary

Panasonic Energy in De Soto, Kansas is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician Lead – Level 6 to act as the technical authority for the site’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems, leading complex repairs and driving reliability improvements.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Operations, oversee safety and compliance, mentor technicians, and standardize maintenance practices to ensure uptime and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of advanced experience in industrial maintenance, facilities, or utilities systems.
• Expert-level knowledge across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and/or pneumatic systems.
• Ability to analyze system interactions and dependencies across facility infrastructure to identify root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, direction, and decision-making support without formal supervisory authority.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems.
• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Lead assessment and resolution of major utility outages and system failures, ensuring rapid restoration and identification of root causes.
• Manage scopes of work for repairs and maintenance that comply with EHS standards, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and permitting requirements.
• Own technical oversight of specialized vendor and contractor work, ensuring adherence to system requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to guide troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Define and standardize maintenance approaches for critical systems, including troubleshooting methods, repair strategies, and escalation protocols.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and system upgrades by providing technical expertise and ensuring maintainability and reliability considerations are incorporated
