Job summary

Summer Street Apartments in Providence, RI seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for a net-zero, 176‑unit building powered by solar and wind energy. You will oversee preventive maintenance, supervise technicians, and ensure safe, efficient performance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.

This is a hands-on role with on-call responsibilities and strong collaboration with the Housing Department.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related technical field or trade certificate/diploma.
• Five years of maintenance/operations experience with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical, boiler, painting, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for a large residential property.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate shift coverage, training and performance reviews.
• Be on-call 24/7 as required to address critical maintenance issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental policies and regulations.
• Communicate regularly with Housing Department and other stakeholders.
