Job summary

BD is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in our USA MD - Hunt Valley location. You will lead a skilled team of technicians and a maintenance planner to maintain and optimize 250 automated media production systems, driving reliability and continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, highly automated environment with responsibilities ranging from troubleshooting to preventive maintenance and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• 5+ years of equipment maintenance or automation experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
• Experience in regulated industries such as medical device, pharma, or food manufacturing is desirable.
• Demonstrated success in maintenance planning and TPM processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance technicians across multiple shifts with emphasis on safety and performance.
• Participate in purchase, start-up and validation of new equipment to meet specs.
• Maximize equipment uptime by monitoring performance and allocating resources.
• Provide technical leadership in diagnosing automated systems including PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyors.
• Support technicians during breakdowns and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop and improve TPM programs for reliability and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations to plan preventative maintenance activities.
• Mentor technicians to build technical and leadership skills.
• Ensure activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
