Job summary

State of Ohio's Youth Services - Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 to provide skilled building repairs including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and related metalwork. You will lead youth workers and supervise tasks to maintain facility safety and operations.

Typical hours are 8am–4pm with overtime and weekend shifts; new hires receive six-month pay progression and structured on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and English vocabulary with basic trade skills.
• Experience or training in maintenance repair (electrical/plumbing/carpentry).
• Valid commercial driver’s license may be required for certain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, masonry, plumbing and metalwork repairs.
• Inspect buildings and perform preventive maintenance.
• Lead youth workers, provide direction and training, and ensure safety.
