Job summary

OSI Group in Chicago, IL, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for proactively maintaining machinery and equipment through preventive/predictive maintenance. This role focuses on facility systems including storm water and wastewater management.

You will install and service equipment, diagnose and repair mechanical failures, read drawings, weld as needed, and ensure a clean, safe work environment. Experience in waste water handling and food safety is preferred; willingness to train and lift

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance of industrial machinery preferred; training available.
• Waste water and chemical handling experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Basic welding knowledge (gas/arc/TIG).
• Proficiency with hand tools and preventive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and servicing equipment using hand tools.
• Maintain pollution equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Respond promptly to facility escalations.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks daily.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas.
• Support building and grounds activities.
• Follow safety, environmental, food safety, and GMP requirements.
• Execute job orders and keep records.
