MAC Incorporated in Hamlet, NC is seeking a Lead Maintenance Mechanic with a manufacturing background to lead preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. The role requires CMMS experience, and the candidate must come from a manufacturing environment.

Salary is $42–$46 hourly, with a Mon-Fri 7:00a-3:30p schedule. The position emphasizes reliability, TPM support, and coordination with Production and outside contractors for larger projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience required.
  • 8+ years of experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with equipment installation, start-up, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs.
  • Experience with CMMS maintenance planning and work-order management.
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, maintenance projects, and critical spare parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Basic IT knowledge of IP addresses and routers highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance needs, and coordinate work across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Identify critical PM tasks and implement them into the CMMS to improve equipment reliability.
  • Support TPM activities with Production.
  • Install, start up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures using multimeters, tachometers, calipers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Optimize machine cycle times, reliability, and production output.
  • Dismantle equipment and replace defective or worn components.
  • Perform facility and building repairs as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company LOTO procedures.
  • Manage maintenance work orders and planning activities using CMMS.
  • Identify critical spare parts and safety-stock requirements to minimize downtime.
  • Order replacement parts and coordinate repair materials.
  • Coordinate planned equipment downtime with Production and other departments.
  • Complete shift reports and communicate equipment status between Maintenance and Production.
  • Manage outside contractors and vendors for equipment installations, facility upgrades, repairs, and larger maintenance projects.
  • Support Engineering with contractor activities and onsite projects.
  • Determine whether maintenance projects should be completed in-house or through outside contractors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Lead Maintenance Technician
Position Summary

The Lead Maintenance Technician provides advanced technical expertise in the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This position also supports maintenance planning, manages outside contractors/vendors, coordinates projects, and helps improve equipment reliability and production performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and support preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.

  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities with Production.
  • Install, start up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

  • Diagnose equipment failures using multimeters, tachometers, calipers, and other diagnostic tools.
