Job summary
Avance Consulting is seeking a senior Db2 for z/OS architect and DBA to lead architecture, design, and implementation of reliable, scalable Db2 solutions. You will provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams across database, application, and operations, focusing on modernization and governance.
Additionally, you will establish intake and change processes for new workloads, drive CI/CD automation for database changes, and review telemetry to optimize performance and design.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Db2 for z/OS subsystem administration and database administration.
- Strong SQL tuning and physical database design capabilities.
- Experience with mainframe modernization and zLinux environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design and implementation of Db2 for z/OS solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to database, application, operations and modernization teams.
- Establish intake and change processes for new workloads and tune Db2 subsystems and databases.
- Develop self-service, on-demand automation for DDL and DML requests.
- Review SMF/RMF telemetry and application traces; recommend SQL improvements and physical design changes.
- Troubleshoot Db2 for z/OS incidents and participate in release, change, incident and problem-management processes.
