Job summary

Chameleon Integrated Services is seeking a Lead Mainframe Computer Operator to manage mainframe-connected printers and related production tasks in a centralized data center environment. The role emphasizes hands-on printer operations, incident resolution, and coordination across shifts.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership on shift, oversee operator responsibilities, and coordinate with maintenance and OS teams, while ensuring timely print job scheduling via JCL in TSO and ISPF.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mainframe-connected high-speed laser and impact printers and bursters.
• Set up printers based on instructions from mainframe consoles.
• Load paper, toner, developer, and other required print media and supplies.
• Remove, organize, and prepare completed print jobs for distribution.
• Monitor print and mainframe processing; respond to malfunctions.
• Coordinate with OS or printer-maintenance personnel for escalated issues.
• Submit, schedule, and track jobs using JCL within TSO.
• Work within TSO/ISPF for job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Support Production Control activities and report distribution.
• Handle boxes of paper/forms and maintain an orderly printer-production area.

Lead Mainframe Computer Operator

This role requires substantive hands-on experience in a mainframe data center environment with all three of the following and must be demonstrated on the resume:

• High-speed laser printers
• Impact printers
• Burster equipment

Candidates must also have demonstrated shift leadership, senior operator responsibilities, work coordination, troubleshooting/escalation responsibility, or similar experience in the resume.

Required Technical/Operational Experience:

Schedule:

One Lead assigned to each shift:

• Shift 1: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• Shift 2: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Friday
