Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a skilled Automation Architect to define, develop and implement Mainframe or distributed automation strategies, eliminating manual intervention in systems and workloads. You will architect, design and deliver automated solutions to improve efficiency, and provide consulting on standards and best practices across responsible teams.

Qualifications

Expert-level experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS, including administration and policy development.
Advanced REXX programming experience developing automation solutions and scripts.
Strong experience with IBM NetView and related automation components.
Experience with z/OS subsystems and middleware (CICS, Db2, IMS, JES2/JES3, MQ, TCP/IP).
Automation design for CICS availability, recovery, startup, shutdown and health monitoring.
Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex, JCL, SDSF, TSO/ISPF and z/OS operations.
Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS, TWS, ZWS).
Familiarity with USS/OMVS and UNIX scripting for automation.
Integration of automation with monitoring/event tools like OMEGAMON, ServiceNow, Moogsoft.
Proven ability to lead automation initiatives, reduce manual intervention and improve reliability.

Responsibilities

Design and implement a highly available Mainframe platform with focus on system management.
Partner with technology teams to reengineer processes onboarding to Mainframe platforms.
Lead automation efforts to orchestrate repeatable admin tasks and improve reliability.
Drive industry-standard continuous process improvements.
Develop thorough technical documentation including diagrams.
