Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union seeks an experienced Mainframe Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automated workflows for z/OS environments. Qualifications

• Expert-level experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS and SA policy maintenance.
• Advanced REXX programming for enterprise automation and tooling.
• Strong experience with IBM NetView and automation components.
• Experience across z/OS subsystems and middleware (CICS, Db2, IMS, MQ, TCP/IP).
• Automation design for CICS availability, recovery, startup, shutdown, and health monitoring.
• Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex, JCL, SDSF, TSO/ISPF and z/OS operations.
• Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS/ZWS).
• Familiarity with USS/OMVS and UNIX scripting for automation.
• Experience integrating automation with monitoring/event tools (OMEGAMON, ServiceNow, Moogsoft).
• Ability to reduce manual intervention and deliver scalable automation across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available Mainframe platform emphasizing system management per NFCU standards.
• Partner with technology teams to reengineer processes onboarding to Mainframe platform.
• Lead automation and orchestration of repeatable admin tasks for reliability and reuse.
• Drive continuous process improvements and document architectures thoroughly.
