Job summary

Laborup is hiring a Lead CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift. You will run vertical and horizontal mills, handle setups, and mentor a crew of four on the shop floor. You’ll troubleshoot on the floor, perform basic quality checks, and report daily production progress in Excel.

The role requires strong CNC/G-Code skills, experience leading machinists, and the ability to work independently as the senior team member on shift. Compensation includes a standard hourly rate plus a second-shift differential.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience on vertical and horizontal mills, including setups.
• Read and troubleshoot G-Code; program editing is a plus but not required.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or training other machinists.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform basic quality inspection without dedicated QC support.
• Basic computer skills.

Job description

Overview

We’re hiring a Lead CNC Machinist for 2nd shift at our machine shop. This is a working lead role: you’ll run machines and setups yourself while leading a crew of 4, with 3 other 2nd-shift machinists answering to you. You’ll be the go-to for questions and troubleshooting on the floor, and you’ll also handle basic quality checks for the shift.

Compensation

• $28–$34/hr, plus $1/hr 2nd shift differential

Shift
