Job summary

Tethered Talent seeks a hands-on Machining & Assembly Shift Supervisor to lead daily production operations in a regulated medical device environment. You will oversee machining and assembly staff, drive schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery with a focus on Lean principles.

Ideal candidates have CNC experience and strong frontline leadership. A high school diploma is required, and a degree is a plus. This role is based in Sugar Land, TX on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• At least five years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in a production supervisor/shift supervisor role.
• Experience overseeing machining and/or assembly operations.
• Understanding of CNC machining operations; hands-on setup or programming is a plus.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing: 5S, standard work, waste reduction, root-cause analysis.
• Experience using ERP/MES for production tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily machining and assembly operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
• Supervise, coach, and develop machine operators, assemblers, and production leads.
• Execute production schedules, prioritize work orders, and coordinate shift handoffs.
• Monitor production performance and address equipment, staffing, quality, or material issues.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead problem-solving to improve production flow.
• Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity and schedule adherence.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and 5S-compliant environment.
• Reinforce standard work, training, and performance expectations.
• Drive Lean initiatives, waste reduction, setup improvements, and Kaizen activities.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, quality, and CI teams to strengthen processes.
