Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Shop Foreman- Machine Builder to lead our machine shop operations in Livingston, NJ. You will oversee machinists, technicians, and fabricators, driving on-time delivery of high-quality machinery while upholding safety standards.

You will mentor a skilled team, collaborate with Engineering to test new designs, and optimize shop efficiency. A strong background in CAD, BOMs, and quality management is essential, with an Engineering degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proficient in BOMS, Quality Management, and Machine Shop operations.
• Strong knowledge of machine building and design with attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills to motivate others.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Committed to safety and knowledgeable about shop safety protocols.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong time management.
• Proficient in CAD and project management tools; Engineering degree preferred; Quality Management certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the machine shop for smooth, efficient operations.
• Lead, mentor, and train machinists, technicians, and fabricators.
• Ensure production of high-quality machinery meeting client specs.
• Develop strategies to improve shop efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with Engineering to design, build, and test new machinery.
• Maintain strict quality control and inspect machinery before delivery.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects.
• Foster a safe work environment and enforce safety standards.
• Manage shop resources, including supplies and equipment maintenance.
• Resolve shop issues and conflicts promptly and effectively.
