Job summary

nVent is seeking a Machine Operator Lead in Tempe to guide safety, quality, productivity and team engagement in a high-speed manufacturing setting.

You will lead daily production activities, coach team members, and remove obstacles to performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and continuous improvement on the floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership in fast-paced production.
• Experience leading assembly/fabrication/high-volume manufacturing teams.
• Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Hands-on coaching and equipment support experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals.
• Coordinate workflow, staffing, and production priorities with the Production Supervisor.
• Maintain a strong presence on the floor, coaching and solving real-time issues.
• Fill roles and provide line coverage to maintain flow during absences and shifts.
• Monitor metrics and drive improvements in throughput, uptime, and waste reduction.
• Train and develop employees on standard work, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Lead troubleshooting with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams.
