Job summary

Reynolds Consumer Products is seeking a Cell Lead Machine Operator in Richmond, VA, to oversee frontline production in the finishing cell, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. You will mentor operators, coordinate changeovers, and collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years in manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities within the finishing cell to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Train and mentor operators on equipment operation, changeovers, and safe practices.
  • Coordinate equipment changeovers and machine setup to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards in collaboration with Quality.

We currently have an opportunity for a Cell Lead Machine Operator at our Manufacturing Plant in Richmond, VA.

Pay: $31.70 / hour

Shift/Hours: 12hr 2-2-3 Schedule

  • 12hr Shift Differential Range: $1.30-$2.05*
Responsibilities

As a Cell Lead Machine Operator you will provide frontline production leadership by coordinating manufacturing activities, supporting safe and efficient equipment operation, and ensuring product quality within the finishing operation. Partners with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues, lead equipment changeovers, and develop operator capability while maintaining production performance. Exercises independent judgment in day-to-day operational decisions, influences team performance through technical expertise and collaboration, and helps drive continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.

Leadership
  • Leads daily production activities within the assigned finishing cell to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Trains and mentors operators on equipment operation, changeovers, standard work, and safe operating practices to build workforce capability.
  • Promotes a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement through effective communication and collaboration.
Operations
  • Coordinates and performs equipment changeovers and machine setup to support efficient production and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues, performs minor mechanical repairs and adjustments, and restores production safely and efficiently.
  • Monitors production performance and proactively resolves operational issues that impact throughput, quality, or safety.
  • Uses hand tools to complete routine mechanical adjustments and replace or repair machine components such as belts.
Quality
  • Partners with Quality personnel to ensure products consistently meet established quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Identifies quality concerns and implements corrective actions to maintain compliance with production specifications.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Champions compliance with all safety policies and procedures while identifying opportunities to reduce operational risk.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.

Requirements
Education/Experience
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, machine operation, mechanical, or production support experience.
Preferred
  • Experience leading production activities or providing work direction in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with machine conversion processes.
  • Training or experience in problem solving, conflict resolution, and effective workplace communication.
