Job summary

Avir Trilogy in Texas is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care and supervise daily activities in a long-term care facility. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and direct nursing staff to uphold quality care and residents’ rights.

Responsibilities include maintaining care plans, coordinating admissions and discharges, and participating in infection control and safety programs. Strong leadership and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
• Valid State license to practice nursing.
• IV certification preferred.
• Must be able to write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures and related laws and regulations for long-term care.
• Leadership and supervisory ability to work with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs and procedures for quality care.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm in handling residents and staff.
• Willingness to adopt new methods and principles into nursing practices.
• Physical requirements: walking, reaching, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling.
• Ability to remain calm under stress.
• Independence, flexibility, integrity, and teamwork with residents and support agencies.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Must be able to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Professional, supportive, and confidential with staff, residents, and owner.
• Keep corporate office informed of situations affecting the facility.
• Ensure positive information is conveyed to all contacts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities of the assigned unit.
• Direct the unit's operation in accordance with rules and policies while maintaining quality care.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed and reflect day-to-day nursing activities.
• Maintain residents' rights and ensure safety and sanitation standards.
• Review and update care plans and assist in admissions, transfers and discharges.
