Job summary
Astrolab in Hawthorne, California seeks a Lead Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer to own the end-to-end harness lifecycle for lunar rover power and data networks, from architecture to manufacturing specs.
You'll lead design, qualification under lunar conditions, SEE/TID mitigation, and serve as technical authority across teams, mentoring engineers.
Requires a Bachelor's in STEM and 5+ years spaceflight avionics experience; knowledge of NASA/ECSS standards and CAD tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- 5+ years in spaceflight avionics and wiring harness design.
- Experience with NASA/ECSS standards for harness fabrication and routing.
- Proficiency with CAD/EDA tools for harness routing (Siemens Capital, Zuken E3.series, Altium, Creo Harness, CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE).
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical interconnect and harness architecture for lunar flight systems.
- Oversee harness testing, routing mock-ups, and spacecraft integration.
- Mentor avionics and electrical engineers across teams.
- Ensure compliance with NASA and internal standards.
